Dear President Trump. What we have here is a failure to communicate. You keep saying your new tax program will cut taxes to the middle class. But your Republicans in congress keep eliminating the deductions I, as a roughly middle class retiree, am entitled too. Unless you are cutting my tax rate as much as you are cutting the rates of the rich, then even a buffoon like me can figure out my taxes are going to go up. You keep saying “trust me.” But, frankly, you have not earned my trust. You have insulted and demeaned the “least of these” Jesus told us to care for. You have lied, you have bullied, you have insulted and berated American citizens. You have used the Presidency to promote your private businesses. You have appointed judges without trial experience to be appellate justices. And you want me to trust you. I may be commanded by our Lord to love you, but I don’t trust you. I must ask God soon how you love someone you cannot trust. Til then, I pray for you. I pray God will heal your weaknesses. I pray God strengthens the good that is in you. I pray for us all.
